Vicar's Message

Deuteronomy 32:7

‘Remember the days of old; Consider the Generations long past. Ask your Father and He will tell you, your Elders, and they will explain to you.’

We are living in the midst of the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fear, insecurity, and anxiety concerning how COVID-19 will affect us, those we love, and our communities -including the church - consume us. Yet our faith commends us to do otherwise, to not be consumed by fear, insecurity, and anxiety. As followers of Jesus, we put our trust in God who raised Jesus from the dead and who, in the power of the Holy Spirit, sends us to be about God’s mission of restoration, reconciliation and wholeness in the face of brokenness, alienation, and illness. Now is the time for us to be the Church that God wants us and needs us to be.

While “social distancing” might be the order of the day to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, spiritual and non-physical closeness in these times of isolation and quarantine is called for more than ever before. In prayer we are profoundly connected to God and one another in deep and meaningful ways that passes all understanding. In prayer we are never alone. In prayer, we connect to one another and to God as people of hope in this challenging time.

God has a purpose and plan for our lives and let us strive to live in the center of His will for each one of us. God has been great to us and we need to stop at times and just count our blessings and see what God has done for us and with us. Don't ever forget that the church is the bride of Christ. God has commanded us “Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.” (Hebrews 10:24,25).

Let us strive to keep our focus on Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior at all times. God wants us in His church so we can uplift, love and encourage each other as we worship and serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In prayer we are profoundly connected to God and one another in deep and meaningful ways that passes all understanding. In prayer we are never alone. In prayer, we connect to one another and to God as people of hope in this challenging time.
May God continue to Bless you All. Prayers for you All.

Yours in Christ’s ministry,
